Autumn Evening

There is something so peaceful in Terry Redlins art that consumes my thoughts on a simpler life. I am having one of those days that I am not doing anything really, but contemplate on my own life. Don't get me wrong, I am blessed to be alive, and where I have gotten to in my life, but I do long for a more peaceful world. A world with less.Less technology, less shortcuts, less greed, less politics.... I see these kinds of pictures and wonder why we all don't strive for more of a simpler life. The world is so caught up in technology that it is suppose to make life easier, but really it doesn't do much other than help us forget what working for our communities is about. Sure, a simpler life would actually mean more labor involved, but there is something magical in doing a hard job, a physical job. Communication would not have been forgotten. How great would it be to be surrounded by trees in a small community where people always helped one another, talked to one another? How great would it be to breath in every day and we didn't let stress over take our lives? How bad would it be to go back to the olden days? Is this possible? Well, we can't jump into a painting, or rewind time, but God knows I wish I could. I guess all we can do is try our best with what we do have and work towards our dreams and desires. For me, living in a small community with my friends and family is all I ever really need in life. Of course God is really all that one ever really needs as well. But for me, the art of people like Terry Redlins reminds me of how beautiful life is. What would be more relaxing than to sit on an ole porch of a family home and admire the beautiful trees and colors that surround us. The kids at play, maybe they are jumping through a big pile of leaves that the family just raked up or even maybe they are out chasing fireflies to keep in a jar. The smell of a wood burning fireplace fills the air reminding me of warmth and comfort of an autumn evening.... It makes me want to take out my James Taylor CD or even a little John Denver and just slow life way down....I could live like this.....Oh, dare to dream.......xxooxxoo

RIP Patrick Swazye

rip dear friend to the world
She's like the wind

through my tree

She rides the night

next to me

She leads me through moonlight

Only to burn me with the sun

She's taken my heart

but she doesn't know what she's done

Feel her breath on my face

Her body close to me

Can't look in her eyes

She's out of my league

Just a fool to believe

I have anything she needs

She's like the wind

[SOLO]

I look in the mirror

and all I see

Is a young old man

with only a dream

Am I just fooling myself

That she'll stop the pain

Living without her

I'd go insane

Feel her breath on my face

Her body close to me

Can't look in her eyes

She's out of my league

Just a fool to believe

I have anything she needs

She's like the wind

Feel your breath on my face

Your body close to me

Can't look in your eyes

You're out of my league

Just a fool to believe (Just a fool to believe)

She's like the wind (Just a fool to believe)

Just a fool to believe (She's like the wind)

Just a fool to believe (Just a fool to believe)

She's like the wind (Just a fool to believe)

Just a fool to believe She's like the wind (Just a fool...)

(She's like the wind) (She's like the wind) (Just a fool...)

(She's like the wind) (Just a fool...)
